TikTok or Instagram says my stream key is invalid

Both issue a new stream key for every session. Start the live in TikTok LIVE Center or in Instagram’s Live Producer first, then paste the new key when Mucast asks for it.

A platform says Not supported

That platform can’t take the shape you picked: Kick and Facebook take landscape only, Instagram takes portrait only. Switch the orientation, or leave that platform off for this show.

How do I update Mucast?

Mucast checks for new versions and asks before it installs anything. You can also download the latest version from the download page at any time. Go to the download page

How do I send you diagnostics?

In Mucast, choose Help → Export Diagnostics… and attach the file to your email. Stream keys never appear in it.

How do I uninstall Mucast?

First choose Settings → Privacy → Remove all saved keys, which deletes your stream keys from the Keychain. Then quit Mucast and drag it from Applications to the Trash. To remove its settings too, open ~/Library/Containers in Finder (Go → Go to Folder…) and move the folder named Mucast to the Trash. Your recordings stay where you saved them. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a Pro subscription: cancel it in Mucast under Settings → Pro → Manage Subscription first.

Is it safe to download?

Yes. Mucast is signed with an Apple Developer ID (team 2SBU87B28M) and notarized by Apple, so macOS checks it before it opens. The download page shows the SHA-256 checksum of every release, so you can confirm your file is the one we published. Go to the download page

Do I need an account?

Not for the free tier. Pro is bought and managed inside the app with a Mucast account.

Which platforms can I stream to?

YouTube, Twitch, Kick, TikTok and Instagram, and also Facebook and any RTMP or RTMPS server. Landscape suits YouTube, Twitch, Kick and Facebook; portrait suits TikTok and Instagram. YouTube and Twitch also take portrait, and TikTok shows landscape with bars. TikTok and Instagram give stream keys only to some accounts, so check that yours has one.

How fast does my internet need to be?

Mucast sends a separate copy to each platform, so upload speed adds up: about 6 Mb/s per platform in landscape and about 4 Mb/s per platform in portrait. The built-in upload test shows what your connection can carry, and the Low upload preset needs much less.

Why not send one stream to a relay server?

A relay puts a server between you and your viewers. Mucast streams straight from your Mac: nothing in between sees your video, and there is no relay subscription. The cost is upload speed, which is why each platform’s health is shown on its own.

What happens if one platform has a problem?

Only that platform is affected. Mucast shows what went wrong, such as an expired key or a slow link, and keeps reconnecting it while the others stay live.

Can I record the show?

Yes, on every plan. Mucast saves the stream as an MP4 while you are live, without encoding it a second time.

Do the prices include VAT?

Yes. Prices include VAT where it applies, and the checkout shows the total before you pay.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

You can cancel any time in the app; Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Within 14 days of buying you can withdraw and get your money back, minus the days you used (lifetime: in full). Read the refund and withdrawal policy

Can I use Pro on more than one Mac?

Yes, on up to 5 Macs signed in to the same Mucast account.

Does Mucast collect data about me?

Only anonymous usage statistics, such as which features are used and why streams end, never your name, email, stream keys, titles or files. You can turn them off in Settings → Privacy. There are no ads. Your video goes from your Mac straight to the platforms, and stream keys stay in your Mac’s Keychain. If you sign in for Pro, we keep your account and purchase details. Is Mucast on the Mac App Store?

No. Mucast is sold directly from getmucast.com and updates itself from here.

Does it work on Intel Macs?

No. Mucast needs a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 26 or later.
